Tickets will be on sale ($30.00) at the door starting at 6:30pm at Electric Works Gallery.
Bid on more than 140 works by local artists in live and silent auction, as well as enticing vacation packages to Oahu, HI and Chateau Whistler, Canada. Enjoy delicious delectables catered by Thomas John Events and cocktails with a San Francisco flavor. Awards will be given for the pieces judged to be First and Second in Representational, Non-Representational, Fine Craft, and 3-Dimentional art, as well as Juror’s Choice. Proceeds from the auction benefit all of ArtSpan’s programs, including Art for City Youth and San Francisco Open Studios, the city’s largest free visual arts event held each year.

Awards Jury:
- Kristen Evangelista, Assistant Curator, San Jose Museum of
Art. She has worked at many Bay Area arts organizations
including Southern Exposure and the San Jose Institute of Contemporary
Art. She received a B.A. degree in Art History and Women's Studies from
Wesleyan University, and an M.A. from the Center for Curatorial Studies,
Bard College. - Deborah-Jean (DJ) Harmon, Director of Hang Art. She has experience involving a wide range of contemporary arts management, corporate art consulting, and independent curating for public art programs. Harmon contributes as an art and culture writer, and continues to write as a critic for contemporary shows and artists’ books worldwide. She has served as an art adviser to several private and institutional organizations.
- Glen Moriwaki , Professor of Art, City College of San Francisco. He received
- Carrie Ann Plank, Printmaking Department Coordinator, Academy of Art University. She has taught at the Academy in the graduate and undergraduate departments since 2002. Previously she has been a Professor of Fine Arts at the Pennsylvania State University, Xavier University, and the University of New Orleans. Carrie Ann received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking from East Carolina University and her Masters of Fine Arts in Printmaking from the Pennsylvania State University.
his BA, MA, and MFA degrees in painting from UC Berkeley, where he was
awarded the Eisner Prize in Fine Arts. Glen paints large format
abstractions on canvas in both acrylic and oil as well as smaller works
on paper. He has exhibited his work locally, in Hawaii, and abroad since
1978. In 1999, Glen and his family traveled to a small village in the
south of France, where he started a summer workshop in painting. Next
year will be the tenth anniversary of the workshop.
